Magic Reviews was created to help children’s authors like you and me to support one another through genuine, thoughtful reviews in a kind and encouraging community environment.
Whether we are preparing for our very first book launch or already have published books out in the world, Magic Reviews is designed to help us authors receive more visibility, social proof, encouragement, and momentum along our publishing journey.
BEFORE JOINING:
In order to participate in Magic Reviews, there are two important prerequisites:
Your book must already be available on Amazon.
You must also be eligible to leave Amazon reviews within your Amazon marketplace. Amazon currently requires reviewers to have spent at least $50 within the past 12 months using a valid credit or debit card connected to their Amazon account.
Please note that review eligibility can vary by marketplace (for example: Amazon.com, Amazon.de, Amazon.fr, etc.).
HOW MAGIC REVIEWS WORKS:
Each member submits 3 thoughtful Amazon reviews per month for fellow children’s authors. The purchase of reviewed books is always appreciated, but never required.
In return, members also receive thoughtful reviews for their own books from fellow authors within the community.
Thanks to the thoughtful and unique Magic Review system, there will be absolutely no review-swapping.
Members have 10 days to complete assigned reviews once books appear in their dashboard.
Membership lasts for 6 months.

How does MAGIC REVIEWS™ work?
MAGIC REVIEWS™ makes use of the power of a community.
Every 30 days, each member of this community supports at least 3 books that are shared with us on our MAGIC LIST.
What makes MAGIC REVIEWS™ special?
Besides being an absolutely free resource, the two main differences to other supporting services are all around PRIVACY and SAFETY.
PRIVACY:
MAGIC REVIEWS™ is made up of a closed community that is willing to support one another. It is NOT accessible to others outside of this community.
SAFETY:
Unlike other services, MAGIC REVIEWS™ is (1) NOT an open community and (2) does NOT require us authors to upload our books so as to prevent any potential piracy issues.
Because other services are NOT a closed community and require authors to upload their books onto their database in their entirety, anyone can potentially access and download their books.
Not only could this increase the potential for piracy issues, but allowing others to access and download our book for free might violate Amazon's regulations whenever a book is enrolled in KDP Select.
How much does it cost to become a member of the MAGIC REVIEWS™ community?
Because I have created this as a tool to help and support each other, MAGIC REVIEWS™ is absolutely free.
How many of my books can I add to the MAGIC LIST?
Every member within the community gets to add ONE book to the list at any given time. If you have multiple books, you can switch your book once per membership month, up to 2 times during your 6-month membership.
How & when do I get to add my own book to the MAGIC LIST?
During the registration process, you'll be able to add your own book to Magic Reviews. Once you have completed your first reviews for fellow authors, your book will automatically become eligible to receive reviews as well.
Who can become a member of the MAGIC REVIEWS™ community?
MAGIC REVIEWS™ is open to children's authors whose books are already available for purchase on Amazon.
In order to participate, members must be eligible to leave reviews within their Amazon marketplace. Amazon generally requires reviewers to have spent at least $50 within the past 12 months using a valid credit or debit card associated with their Amazon account.
Because MAGIC REVIEWS™ is built around mutual support, members should be willing to thoughtfully review fellow authors' books and approach the community with a spirit of kindness, encouragement, and generosity.
Please note that if this is your first time participating, you will need to submit your first reviews before your own book becomes eligible to receive reviews from the community.
What happens if I'm unable to support at least 3 fellow authors each month?
MAGIC REVIEWS™ will only work if we combine our forces to support each other.
If there is no membership activity for more than 30 days, we will no longer be able to access MAGIC REVIEWS™.
NOTE: Supporting one another does NOT require a purchase. However, while a purchase would be completely voluntary, I'm sure it would mean the world to each of your fellow children's authors.
Do I have to purchase each book I am reviewing?
Please know that in order to support a book, Amazon does NOT require us to purchase it. Whether or not we do so is entirely up to us. Instead, we can simply use Amazon's "Look Inside" feature to learn more about each of the books.
Many members of the MAGIC REVIEWS™ community simply base their review on (1) the preview or (2) decide to support their fellow children's author by purchasing the ebook version of the book.
Are there any additional guidelines or rules I should be following?
Please remember: We all put in so much time and effort into writing and publishing our beautiful book. MAGIC REVIEWS™ is meant to be a tool we can use to support one another.
ONLY YOU alone can decide what your support will look like. Please just remember that if we wish to receive support from fellow authors, we will have to be willing to do the same.

- In order to remain an active member, each member is invited to support 3 books every month.
What does it mean to be "eligible" to leave reviews on Amazon?
In order to be able to support fellow authors, we must be able to leave reviews on Amazon. Per Amazon's eligibility rules to leave reviews, a user needs to have spent at least $50 on Amazon, using a valid credit or debit card, in the past 12 months.
To see if you are eligible, simply go to Amazon, log into your account, click on RETURN & ORDERS in the upper right corner of the menu bar, and click on the "Write a Product Review" button for any of your previously purchased items. If Amazon lets you submit a review, you are eligible.
Can I re-enroll after my initial 6 month-membership?
Absolutely!
Once your 6-month membership has ended, you are welcome to rejoin MAGIC REVIEWS™ after a brief 2-month cool-off period.
To make things easy, consider setting yourself a calendar reminder for the date your membership ends. Once the 2-month waiting period has passed, simply log back in using the same email address and password to enroll again.
This brief pause helps ensure that review opportunities remain balanced and fairly distributed throughout the community.
Why is the membership limited to 6 months?
The 6-month membership period helps keep MAGIC REVIEWS™ fair, balanced, and effective for everyone involved.
Over time, active members naturally review more and more books within the community. By periodically cycling members out and welcoming new ones in, we can help ensure a steady flow of fresh review opportunities.
The 6-month structure also helps encourage active participation and keeps the community vibrant and supportive for all authors involved.
The good news is that your journey doesn't have to end there! Once your membership concludes and the brief 2-month cool-off period has passed, you're welcome to re-enroll and continue supporting fellow authors while receiving support for your own books.
